capital city of Slovenia is Ljubljana with about 276
thousand people. The political
centre is also in Ljubljana where the President resides. Slovenia is a
Republic.

language spoken is Slovene, which is closely related to Croat
and Czech. Most Slovenes speak German, Hungarian or Italian, with English as a
second language. The
TV programs are in their original language. Cable
and Satellite TV available.

is about 2 million people - 92% are Slovene, 1% Croat, 0.5% Serb, 0.4%
Hungarian, 0.3% Bosnian, 5.8% other.

Housing: You can
expect relatively high standards from properties in Slovenia. Middle-class
properties are generally spacious, well built, and maintained to a high level. Most Expats rent their apartment or house; some buy their homes. Both
options are available but mainly depend on your company policy, income, and the
length of your stay.

Cost of housing: Varies
from area to area and the size of the house. Expat Homes are available as of
euro 1200-4000, depending upon size, location, style. The local
currency is Slovene Tolar (SIT).

available. Depending on the age we can tell you
about a possible waiting lists, etc.

Transportation: Ljubljana's public transit system
consists of buses running from 5.00 a.m. to midnight. The network is considered
comprehensive and efficient is aided by the fact that Slovenia's capital is a
small city.

Bank: The banks are open from Monday-Friday 8.30 am - 12.30
pm and 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm. Saturday 8.30 am - 11.00 am or 12.00 pm.

Shopping: Is generally done from Monday-Friday
8.00 am - 7.00 pm. Saturdays from 8.00 am - 1.00 pm.

Climate: Temperate, with regional variations.
Average temperature in the mountain region in January is below 0°C (32°F), in
the interior from 0°C - 2°C (32°F-36°F), and along the coast from 2°C - 4°C
(36°F-39°F); in July, average temperature in the interior is 20°C - 22°C
(68°F-72°F), along the coast 22°C - 24°C (72°F-75°F).

Culture:
There is a wide selection of theatres, cinemas, casinos and nightclubs in the
larger towns. Ljubljana also has a good opera house and the symphony orchestra
plays regularly in the Big Hall of the Cultural and Congress Centre.
